I have been using this addon since almost lvl 10, (now lvl 80) when I was desperate to find an addon that would help me find the locations of things that dropped certain items, without having to minimize my wow window and search the net. But since patch 3.0... I have noticed that I have had problems with my MobMap. Sometimes it causes my game to crash entire. Other times it causes debilitating lag, to the point I think I have lost the game, only for it to finally show the big map and the lovely tiny white dots to point me where I need to go. However, more often than not, I end up crashing entirely, and then I am forced to look for things on the internet.
I do have the most current database uploaded (MobMap 3.33). I pretty much update my database each time I log out, or at least every2 or 3 days. Until recently I was using the most updated version of Carbonite 3.31 and Cartographer : v2.5.3. However, I have had to uninstall Cartographer because it just does not work well with all three addons together. I still get the crashes. I am almost certain it has to do with something conflicting between these two addons (Carbonite and MobMap)… and I have a feeling it’s the Quest related portion of the addons.
I do not use the Quest Tracker of MobMap. I like having my Carbonite track my quests for me, as well as having its little mini-map to point where I need to go for various quests. MobMap is indispensible as a database for me at least.
Is there a possibility of making your addon modular? I know you have the ability to turn off the quest tracking information through the interface, but I do think that MobMap at this time is fighting both Carbonite and or even EveryQuest for information in regards to quests. And please let me know if I can further help with debugging this particular problem. I sure do love using this addon. I find it very useful not only for myself, but useful for my guild members as well.
