MobMap v3.45...err, 3.46!

A new minor update for MobMap has just been released which contains some bugfixes and a few little changes (though mostly internal, so you won't see much about those at the user level). The changelog below pretty much sums it up. A small sidenote: as far as I know today, no new bugs have been discovered during the course of the WoW patch 3.2.2 release.

At the same time multiple bugfixes have been applied to the database creation process, so I suggest you to grab a new database copy when downloading the update, even though the format hasn't changed. And you'll probably notice that the MobMapUpdater has received a minor patch, too - changing a few internal things and fixing one or two special issues with the upcoming Windows 7 operating system.

--------------------------------------

v3.45:
- changed: Quest targets which have you collect items dropped by a lot of different mobs will now display a maximum of only 4 mob names below the auto-generated TomTom waypoint arrow
- fixed: The small quest item buttons in the MobMap quest tracker will now work correctly in every situation
- changed: The "collapsed/expanded" status of the quest group headers in MobMaps quest tracker and Blizzards quest log are now synchronized (was required to fix the bug above)
- fixed: Clicking on a quest title in the MobMap quest tracker will now correctly display the WoW quest log at its correct position, not sticking at the top of the screen
- fixed: A problem has been corrected which caused a few quests with more than one quest target to only display the distance to the first target in the MobMap quest tracker (however, you will also have to fetch a fresh database copy for this fix to work)
- changed: Several minor internal improvements and tweaks have been made to the quest tracker

v3.46:
- fixed: The quest tracker item buttons which I accidentially broke in 3.45 are now fixed (and yeah, they should finally work fine in any situation now!)

--------------------------------------

edit: There have been numerous reports of people not being able to see the quest item buttons in the MobMap quest tracker anymore. I am currently tracking down this issue and preparing a fix, as soon as it is ready I'll push out version 3.46 to correct this rather big issue.

edit 2: So there it is, v3.46, fixing this one issue.

Verstehst du, was ich meine? Oder mache ich einen Bedienfehler?

    Thanks for MobMap!

Is there any chance you might consider creating a Macintosh version of the MobMap Updater?

  3. Fragglechen says:

Since last week my MobMap does not work any longer. Every time i close WOW or want to open Mob Map i got an empty Error Window.
Mob Mab Window for updating DB and Mod is not opened....
Reinstall of addon does have no effect

  4. Cris says:

I updated MobMap to the latest version, and got a message that the plugin is generating too many errors. In the Lua Error interface it says:
"Interface\AddOns\MobMap\MobMap.lua:2275: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)"
    and the count continuously increases.

Thanks for making and maintaining MobMab. It's simply awesome! :)

    Hi,

  8. Rapal says:

    Improvement suggestion:
When the "dots" are shown on the various maps, it would be nice to have some sort of coloring indicating where the item has spawned the most times.
E.g. instead of white dots, it would be nice to know (by green) where the items has been found the most, and (by red) where it has been found, but rarely).

Is there a way to run the MobMapUpdater just to upload the collected data, without asking anything to the user and without the need to click anything? I don't like the idea of a process monitoring my WoW window (besides not being totally sure it would work here since I'm using Linux), and would like an easier way to upload the data.
(Asked here since I could not find a better place to ask in your blog.)

Since 3.45 I have lost the ability to minimize a group in the quest tracker. (3.46 included.)
I have to revert back to 3.44 to re-enable this. Normally, I would minimize all but current area. Am I doing something wrong in 3.45+

  11. Slarti says:

You might have an addon installed which interferes with the normal quest log and the open/closed state of the categories therein. Because the biggest thing changed by 3.45 in that respect is that it basically linked the open/closed state of the MobMap quest tracker groups to their state in the questlog. This impliest that addons which affect the questlog categories do now affect the MobMap categories, too.

  12. Zetten says:

I'm having the same issue; I'm using QuestGuru as a double-pane quest log mod.

The MobMap tracker groups still collapsed until recently (possibly 3.2) though, so I'm not sure that it's the sole problem.

One consistent issue I've had with MobMap/QuestGuru is that clicking a quest title in the tracker fails to jump to that quest in the log. I assume QG is overriding the hook from the default quest log or something, but I have no experience developing/debugging WoW addons so I may be wrong.

If you don't mind stepping me through what you need I'd be glad to help though.

Thanks for reply. Tested all addons with MM, Carbonite appears to be the conflicting addon. Without it, works fine, with it, problems.

  14. Mausi says:

    Hi !
At first: a big thx u for this great addon!!!

I have a question due to the Quest-Process-index. What does it mean if a quest is grey or yellow colored? What does the small check box in the front do? It says, it turns the "Process-Status" off and on, but what is what? I haven't understand this function yet, but I would like to.

    Thank you !

  16. BuH4ecTep says:

Hello. Sorry for my bad english. I have a request to developers. Please creat MobMap for russian WoW client.
And again sorry for my bad english.

  17. Pailryder says:

Under the Boss Loot for Trial of the Champion, the Black Knight loot is fine but the "cache" loot shows nothing. This is for eadric, confessor, and champion cache.

  18. Daimenin says:

Love Mob Map, great addon! I have one question though. Why are there always less NPC's in the updated version of the DB then I have in my own? I notice that the number of Quests, Merchants, and Recipes keep going up, but every time I update the number of NPC's goes back down to 18523, but before I update it says I have 18544 in my DB...

  19. Mars says:

Just for your interest and maybe for MobMap ;)

In 3.3 QueryQuestsCompleted() will be added.
