strange problems since patch 2.2

Wednesday, September 26. 2007
Okay, there seems to be at least one problem with patch 2.2 that I missed: the world map display is not working properly. It seems to work when the map is opened by MobMap, but it doesn't work when the map is opened in any other way.

I'll get to it as soon as possible, expect a new, 100% working MobMap version soon...

[update] I have done some testing now, and the problem described above doesn't seem to be caused by MobMap. I noticed it while being in SSC and having Cartographer activated, but it seems to occur only in instances and not in the outside world, and even in the instance I found out that the map initially displayed by Cartographer was generally fucked up (displaying the mouseover effects of the world map on a map of Teldrassil, for example). When the map was switched manually all the display errors were corrected, including the MobMap dots.

After a quick scan of the Cartographer forum I don't seem to be alone with having map problems in instances, so I'll just wait for the moment and see what happens when the Cartographer bugs are sorted out.

If you encounter any other errors or problems with MobMap related to patch 2.2, please leave me a comment here, so I can take a look at it.

MobMap 1.55 for patch 2.2

Wednesday, September 26. 2007
So there it finally is - patch 2.2 has gone live.

MobMap seems to be working fine with the new patch (I have done some testing on the PTRs and another quick test on the live servers today), so I can release v1.55 rather quickly. The main thing it does is change the interface version number in the .toc files, besides fixing a few minor bugs in the data collection code that could throw error messages in some rare occasions.

v1.55 is up for download via the MobMapUpdater and the MobMap website. The installer package will be updated during the next hours as well, after I have fixed some bigger hiccup in the data processing that's currently preventing a successful database rebuild.

Oh, and speaking about "big" things...I have something really big in the pipeline, hitting the road very very soon (though it will probably only be of interest for the german-speaking users). Check back tomorrow for details.
