MobMap v1.57 is out

This version I just released is some kind of a not-so-hot-hotfix - it does fix an error introduced with the first version for patch 2.3 that caused the game to sometimes throw an error message if you accepted a quest from an object. Besides that, a new feature was added: quicksearch buttons (those things with the question mark on it) for reagents in the tradeskill window! Of course these buttons can be disabled in the options if you don't want them, just like the quicksearch buttons for quests.

The MobMapUpdater got a patch too, raising its version number to 1.67. You might have noticed that the MobMap database showed quite some growth in every direction over the last 24 hours - all but the quest database, which did not grow at all. This was due to a problem with the MobMapUpdater which has been resolved in this latest patch. The new quests should therefore finally be added to the database in the very near future.

It loads fine for me I just have one issue now that I can figure out how to turn off or fix. Before 2.3 version update when I selected a MOB after searching for it, it opened the map and showed me were he was. It still does that but it also writes their name on the map windows and it is overwriting where the map coordinates are and making it very hard to read. I can't seem to turn this off or make it go away. What do I need to do?

    Thanks

You might just need to switch the MobMap button position to a more convenient one. There are 3 positions available in the options panel that you can choose from. The standard position in the upper left edge has unfortunately been used by Blizzard in patch 2.3, so the standard position has been switched and the upper left position removed from the list of possibilities.

It isn't the button, I have my button undocked in a specific place. It is on the MAP once I open the map and have searched for something in Mobmap whatever I searched for the name of it is writing over the coordinates. I do not see a setting to move this in Mobmap.

Give me an email address and I will email you a screen cap showing exactly what I mean.

Are there any plans to make Mobmap work with AlphaMap like Gatherer does?

  10. Alexander Lishansky says:

    Hello.

I get often crashes in the last versions of MobMap. The crashes occur mainly when MobMap has limited resources, which happens when I place MobMap window in background (and thus it does not have 100% of CPU), or when other updaters are working (such as UICentral, or Cosmos patcher, or WinAceUpdater, etc.), which causes limited Internet bandwidth to applications.

I assume that such end of "debugout.txt" as "downloading database 8" (and nothing after this) would not help much. For this case I also have "drwtsn32.log" report with, say, such information:

    kernel32!RaiseException+0x52
    MobMapUpdater!+0x73320
    MobMapUpdater!+0x715c5
    MobMapUpdater!+0x72a67
    MobMapUpdater!+0x72903
    MobMapUpdater!+0x88083
    MobMapUpdater!+0x87fc2
    MobMapUpdater!+0x856d5
    MobMapUpdater!+0x93ee
    MobMapUpdater!+0x8a35

Also file "MobMapUpdater.pdb" from MobMap compilation would help, but I don't have this file.

How I can help to eliminate such crashes?

    Thank you.

Any plans to develop the Mobmap for Mac users?

Works almost fine on my MacBook Pro. ;-)

    Small thing:

I just tried to get the quest 'Claim Rackmore's Treasure' from an item in Desolace. I had an older version of Mobmap running and got an error when i tried to accept it. Thanks to mobmap, i wasnt even able to accept the quest! Nothing happened when i pressed the accept button. First time i got the error (something about it coudnt find the questgiver name), and 2nd time and further nothing happened. I went updating Mobmap, and now i'm able to accept the quest =). Weird tho, an addon not letting you accept an quest ;)

  14. Breakfast says:

Seems like the addon wasnt turned on while i accepted the quest, havent finished it. Will abandon it and check if i still get the error WITH mobmap enabled.

  15. wamasi says:

I think there might be a problem with database. If i look up items that are being sold by vendors (Limited items), it shows vendors with unlimited supply and full of epix. So i'm thinking this might come of a privat server?

  16. Breakfast says:

Naah, not a private. It isnt an item wich an npc gives you, it's just an item on the ground, wich you can interact with. No pre-quest. Didnt try to get a new one yet, just got mount, so i'll try soon (didnt want to walk the whole way normally ;))

  17. Slarti says:

Could you tell me the name of that vendor that you suspect to be a private server vendor?
